Beware of the Sweep

The half-marathon had a time limit and any runners not making the cut would be picked up and taken to the finish. Since I did not pass the start line at the start of the race, I was not sure if the difference would be taken into account. So I ran. I did not stop..... not for pictures...not for water...not for the portapottie...not for anything.

I knew if I switched to walking at any point that I would not be able to run again. So I ran.

I wore my sunglasses because I always do when I run. The race started in the dark so I kept them on top of my head. At one point I wanted to cry so I tried wearing the sunglasses but the lens was dirty.  So I ran.

Later I found out that only the personal start and finished counted in the overall time. But in the end I ran!
